An article on the Party's united front work in the new era by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee was published on Issue NO. 2, 2024, Qiushi Journal. This article elaborates on how to promote high-quality development of the united front work in the new era under the guidance of the CPC's new theoretical innovations.
文章指出，中共十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的中共中央始终从全局和战略高度谋划和推进统一战线工作，开创了新时代统战工作新局面。
The article points out that the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core has planned and advanced the united front work in an overall and strategic manner since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012 and thus opened a new chapter in this aspect in the new era.
习近平总书记关于做好新时代党的统一战线工作的重要思想概括为“十二个必须”，即必须充分发挥统一战线的重要法宝作用，必须解决好人心和力量问题，必须正确处理一致性和多样性关系，必须坚持好发展好完善好中国新型政党制度，必须以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为党的民族工作主线，必须坚持我国宗教中国化方向，必须做好党外知识分子和新的社会阶层人士统战工作，必须促进非公有制经济健康发展和非公有制经济人士健康成长，必须发挥港澳台和海外统战工作争取人心的作用，必须加强党外代表人士队伍建设，必须把握做好统战工作的规律，必须加强党对统战工作的全面领导。
General Secretary Xi Jinping summarizes the thought on the Party's united front work into 12 aspects which can be found in the first article of this issue: -- The important role of the united front should be given full play; -- Efforts should be done to pool support and strength; -- Efforts should be done to balance commonality and diversity; -- China's new type of political party system should be upheld, developed and improved; -- The Party's work on ethnic affairs should focus on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation; -- The principle that religions in China must be Chinese in orientation should be upheld; -- Better work should be done to unite intellectuals who are not Party members and people from emerging social groups; -- Efforts should be made to facilitate the healthy development of the non-public sector and those working in it; -- United front work in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and among overseas Chinese should be improved to rally support; -- The ranks of non-Party representative figures should be strengthened; -- The laws underlying the united front work should be better understood; -- The Party's overall leadership over the united front work should be enhanced.
“十二个必须”是一个逻辑严密、内在统一的有机整体，是一个完整的理论体系，既站在“两个大局”的高度明确了统一战线在党和国家事业中的重要地位、本质要求和基本方针，又从新时代统一战线的总目标出发，明确了统一战线各领域工作的任务和重点，谱写了马克思主义统一战线理论发展新篇章。
The “12 Shoulds” is a logical, interconnected theoretical system. It has defined the importance of the united front work in the cause of the Party and the state in consideration of both domestic and international situations, as well as its essential requirements and basic guidelines. In addition, it has listed the tasks and priorities of the united front work and provided new insights for the development of Marxist theories of the united front in adherence to the overarching aim of the united front work in the new era.
文章强调，贯彻落实习近平总书记关于做好新时代党的统一战线工作的重要思想，关键是把学和做结合起来、知和行统一起来，在增共识、聚人心、促团结上见实效，着力推动新时代统战工作高质量发展。
The article also highlights the imperative of implementing the Xi Jinping thought on the Party's united front work in the new era. It believes that only by combing learning and doing and integrating knowledge and action, can we achieve real results in reaching consensus and enhancing cohesiveness, thus promoting high-quality development of the united front work in the new era.
